How much does it cost to have a racehorse in training?

We have calculated the daily average based on the actual invoices of a 2YO filly purchased last year at the Magic Millions March Sale trained by Danny Bougoure:

$10.50 per day for a 10% share

$5.50 per day for a 5% share

Lady Belzone our QTIS 2YO filly we purchased last March had her first start last Wednesday (3^rd in the QTIS 2YO Maiden Mid-Week Metro Meeting at Toowoomba).

Below are the actual amounts invoiced out each month since July 2018:

IMPORTANT: The accounts listed above are all inclusive and include track fees, vet, farrier, transport, chiropractor, dentist etc

The maximum monthly account for the last eight months was $3110

• 10% share $311 per month ($10.36 per day based on 3O days)
• 5% share $155.50 per month ($5.18 per day based on 30 days)

The minimum monthly account for the last eight months was $1055

• 10% share $105 per month ($3.50 per day based on 30 days)
• 5% share $52.50 per month ($1.75 per day based on 30 days)

All accounts are fully itemised and sent out monthly and payment is required within 14 days of invoicing
